Tim Wise is one of the United States’ and the world’s leading antiracism activists and authors. His books include Dear White America, White Like Me, Speaking Treason Fluently, and Under the Affluence. His new book is Dispatches from the Race War.

Tim Wise reflects on the recent passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and how her death has now made America’s multiracial democracy even more imperiled by the Age of Trump and his white neofascist movement. He also shares how the Trump regime’s move to immediately replace Ginsburg with a white neofascist is but another example of the toxic power of white racism in America and its profoundly negative impact on society as a whole.

And Tim Wise counsels that yes, the loss of Justice Ginsburg should upset and terrify all good people of conscience in America but that now is not the time to surrender to defeatism but rather to rally and fight back.

Chauncey DeVega calls out the hope peddlers and others of their ilk in the mainstream American news media and political class who are circulating the lie that there are “good” and “principled” Republicans such as Mitt Romney that will somehow swoop in to stop Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump from replacing Ruth Bader Ginsburg with their own henchwoman.
